Wybot pool cleaner review

Prices and warranty terms checked 5 September 2026

Wybot is the cheapest way into a robotic pool cleaner in Australia, and it is the only brand here where the badge on the box tells you almost nothing about what you have bought. Three models come with a real Australian distributor and in-house repairs. The rest come from a store with no Australian company name on it. Same brand, different purchase.

The conflict on this page, stated plainly. Wybot is the only brand in this category that runs an affiliate program a site like ours could join. It openly recruits review sites on its own Australian page. It is also the brand with the weakest Australian support and the worst warranty documentation we found anywhere in this category. We have not joined the program and there is no paid link on this page, so nothing here pays us today. But you should know that the brand we have the most reservations about is the one with the money on the table, and you should weigh what follows accordingly.

Wybot is two completely different purchases

This is the single most useful thing we can tell you about the brand, and no retailer will tell you. Which Wybot you buy matters far less than who you buy it from.

Route A: the official store, au.wybotpool.com

Model Price Runtime Cleans Warranty as published
B1 up to 1150 sq ft (~107 m2) $499.99 120 min floor, walls, waterline 1 yr not in the warranty table
C1 (2026 Upgrade) 120-150 m2 (also published as 1,615 sq ft) $669.99 150 min floor, walls, waterline 2 yr
C2 (2026 Upgrade) up to 200 m2 $849.99 180 min floor, walls, waterline 2 yr
C2 Vision (2026 Upgrade) up to 200 m2 $1,069.99 180 min floor, walls, waterline 2 yr
S2 Solar up to 3229 sq ft (~300 m2) $1,999.99 150 min floor, walls, waterline 2 yr
S2 Solar Vision up to 3229 sq ft (manual states up to 300 m2) $2,199.99 150 min floor, walls, waterline 2 yr
S3 up to 3229 sq ft (description also says pools up to 15 metres in length) $3,999.99 180 min floor, walls, waterline 2 yr not in the warranty table

Warranty figures here are what the product page or the refund policy states, not what a single authoritative document says, because no such document exists. Where a row is marked "not in the warranty table", the model is absent from the only warranty schedule Wybot publishes in Australia and the figure shown comes from the product page alone.

The official store is where most of the range lives, including everything under a thousand dollars and the S3 flagship. Here is what buying from it actually means.

  • No Australian legal entity is published anywhere on it. No company name, no ABN, no ACN, no Australian address, no Australian phone number. The contact page gives an address in Arcadia, California.
  • The terms of service nominate Kansas. A Lenexa, Kansas address is given as the governing-law address, while a separate clause claims orders are processed under Australian law. Those two statements cannot both be doing the work they appear to.
  • The warranty page is empty. Not thin, not vague. It renders the heading "WYBOT Warranty" and no terms at all.
  • The only warranty table is buried in the refund policy, and it is incomplete: 12 months for some series, 24 for others, and the B1 and the S3 are not in it at all. The B1 product page then contradicts the table anyway, with a specification row saying one year and a trust badge on the same page saying two.
  • The homepage carries an "up to 3-year warranty" badge that no product page and no policy page supports.
  • You do not learn the return address until after you claim. Wybot says support will share it within 24 working days, so an Australian buyer cannot know in advance whether they are posting the machine to Sydney or overseas.
  • "Australian Consumer Law" does not appear anywhere on the site. Your guarantees still apply. They just are not acknowledged.

In fairness, the logistics are local. Stock ships domestically through Allied, Toll and Australia Post in three to seven business days, continental Australia only. Delivery is Australian even though accountability is not.

Route B: Pacific Pool Products Australia

Model Price Type Cleans Warranty
C1 Max up to 200 m2 $1,100 cordless floor, walls 2 yr
L1 up to 130 m2 $1,700 corded floor, walls, waterline 2 yr
M1 up to 400 m2 $1,700 cordless floor, walls, waterline 2 yr

This is a genuinely different proposition. The C1 Max, L1, M1 are sold through Pool and Spa Shop, which distributes via Pacific Pool Products Australia at Unit 3, 26-32 Cosgrove Road, Strathfield South NSW. It states that all repairs and warranty claims are handled in-house by the distributor, back to base, two years, no registration required, proof of purchase needed. That is a named Australian business you can ring, drive to, or pursue. None of these three models is sold on the official Wybot store or on Amazon AU at all.

The trade-off is price and range. The M1 and L1 are $1,700 each, well above the official store's mid-range, and the C1 Max at $1,100 sits above the store's own C1. You are paying a few hundred dollars for a counterparty. On a machine at this price, that is not obviously a bad trade.

Two specification notes on this route, because the retailer and the manufacturer do not always agree. The C1 Max is published by the retailer as cleaning floors and walls only, so do not assume waterline cleaning from the C1 and C2 models on the other route. And the L1 is the only corded Wybot sold in Australia, on an 18 metre cable, with no app.

A note on the brand's Australian history, since it explains the caution. Wybot's previous Australian distributor drew public criticism for after-sales service in a long-term Australian test, after which Wybot began selling direct. The same test reported that swapping the unit rather than repairing it is the normal warranty outcome for this brand. Route B exists because Route A's predecessor did not work.

Where Wybot is genuinely strong

  • Price. The B1 at $499.99 is the cheapest robotic cleaner in our entire register, and the C1 and C2 sit under a thousand dollars with app control and multi-mode navigation.
  • The finest published filtration in the category. The C2 (2026 Upgrade) pairs a 180 micron basket with a 10 micron ultra-fine second stage. Zodiac's best second stage is 60 micron and Dolphin publishes no micron figure at all.
  • Solar charging that actually exists. The S2 Solar models charge from an in-pool solar dock, which nothing else in this register offers.
  • Real specifications, published. Wybot prints microns, battery capacity, suction and depth ratings on most product pages. The documentation is poor where it counts legally, not technically.

Where it is weak

  • An empty warranty page on the official store. There is no charitable reading of this.
  • No Australian entity on Route A. California contact, Kansas governing law, Chinese manufacturer of record.
  • The S3 costs $3,999.99, which is more than the Dolphin M 700 flagship, and it carries two years against that machine's four, with no Australian service network and no place in the warranty table. We would not buy it.
  • Prices move by colour. The S2 Solar Vision is one price in black and green and five hundred dollars more in grey, on the same official store, for the same machine.
  • Marketing figures that are not what they look like. Every "Power" figure on a Wybot spec sheet is the charger rating, not the robot's draw, which is why our running cost register does not use them.

Which Wybot to buy, if any

  • If you want a Wybot you can get repaired, buy Route B. The M1 at $1,700 publishes 300 minutes of runtime and up to 400 m2 of coverage, the largest area figure of any model in our register, and it comes with a New South Wales business behind it.
  • If price is the whole decision. The C2 (2026 Upgrade) at $849.99, understanding that you are buying a machine, not a support relationship. At this price a failure in year two means buying another one, so treat it as a two year purchase and it is still cheap.
  • Do not buy at the top of the range. Above roughly two thousand dollars there is no reason to accept Wybot's Australian position when Dolphin, Zodiac and Beatbot all sell competent machines with a named local company at the same money.
  • Whatever you buy, get the warranty term in an email first. With this brand that is not paranoia, it is the only way to know what you bought.

Common questions

Is Wybot a good pool cleaner brand in Australia?

The machines are competitive and the prices are the lowest in the category, starting at $499.99. The Australian support is the weakest of any brand we track, and it depends entirely on where you buy. The 3 models sold through the Australian distributor come with a named New South Wales company, in-house repairs and back-to-base warranty. Everything bought from the official Wybot store comes from a seller that publishes no Australian company name, gives a California contact address, and nominates Kansas law in its terms.

Who honours a Wybot warranty in Australia?

That depends on the seller, not the model. Buy the M1, L1 or C1 Max through the Australian distributor and it is Pacific Pool Products Australia at Strathfield South in New South Wales, which states plainly that all repairs and warranty claims are handled in-house. Buy from the official Wybot store and there is no named Australian entity at all, and the return address is only disclosed to you after you lodge a claim.

What is the Wybot warranty period?

Officially unclear, and that is not a summary problem on our end. The official Australian warranty page renders a heading and no terms at all. The only warranty table on the site is inside the refund policy, listing 12 months for some series and 24 for others, and the B1 and the S3 do not appear in it. The B1's own product page contradicts itself, with a specification table saying one year and a badge on the same page saying two. Get the term in writing before you pay.

Does this site earn money from Wybot?

Not today, and we want to be exact about it. Wybot is the only brand in this category that runs a publisher program open to a site like ours, openly recruiting review sites on its own Australian page. We have not joined it, there is no tracking link anywhere on this page, and nothing here pays us. It is also the brand with the weakest Australian support, and you should read every positive sentence on this page knowing both of those facts.

10 Wybot floor cleaners tracked, $499.99 to $3,999.99, checked 5 September 2026. The 1 F1 model is a surface skimmer and is excluded from the tables above. Entity details, governing law, warranty tables and distributor terms were read from Wybot's Australian store, its refund and terms pages, and the Australian distributor's own listings. See the warranty register for the full sourcing and the brand comparison for how Wybot sits against the rest.
