Aiper vs Beatbot vs Dolphin

Prices, specifications and warranty terms checked 5 September 2026

These three are the choice most Australian buyers narrow down to, and they are not really competing on the same thing. Aiper competes on price, Beatbot on specification, and Dolphin on whether anyone here will fix the machine. This page puts all 44 models side by side and separates the three arguments.

We have not tested these machines. We compile published specifications, verify Australian prices at the retailer on a stated date, and document warranty and service arrangements. That is a different job from a test lab, and in this category it is the more useful one, because the figures that decide ownership are the ones nobody publishes.

Who actually stands behind it in Australia

This is the table the product pages do not give you, and it is the one that separates these three brands most sharply. Warranty length is the least interesting column on it.

Brand Australian entity Who you deal with Where repairs go Do we earn on it
Aiper None published. No company name, ABN or physical address appears on any Aiper Australian page. Aiper directly, via an online claim form. Australian phone line 1800 497 023. Not confirmed to stay in Australia. The repair form issues a return address only after you submit it. No. Program applied for, not active.
Beatbot AquaTech Group Pty Ltd, ABN 41 682 436 317, trading as Beatbot Australia. The ABN is not displayed on the website. The Australian distributor by phone and email. No Australian repair centre is named. The Australian refund policy routes repairs to a global service address. No. There is no Australian program to join.
Dolphin (Maytronics) Maytronics Australia Pty Ltd, ABN 87 148 058 495, head office Oxley QLD, phone 1300 693 657. Maytronics Australia and its authorised dealer network. Product registration is not required. An authorised Australian service and dealer network. No. Dolphin has no publisher program at all.

Two Aiper models currently on sale in Australia, the Scuba S3 and the Scuba V3, are absent from Aiper's own Australian warranty table, which otherwise lists every model at 12, 24 or 36 months. That is a gap in the manufacturer's published terms, not in our data, and it is worth raising with the retailer before you buy either one.

Every model, all three brands, cheapest first

Led by the selling price on the day we checked, with RRP struck through where the two differ. Publishing RRP alone overstates what these machines cost, in one case on this page by more than a thousand dollars.

Running cost: not a difference between them

People ask which of these three is cheapest to run, and the honest answer is that the question does not have a meaningful answer. Two things make it so.

First, the numbers are tiny. On the worked example in our running-cost register, a robotic cleaner costs about $4.86 to $7.85 of electricity across a full swimming season depending on your state tariff. The filtration pump costs around $358 a year by comparison. Nothing you choose between these three brands will show up on your bill.

Second, only one of the three publishes an operating power figure at all. Aiper's manual for one model states a motor power of 75 W, which on the same assumptions works out at $2.02 to $3.27 a season. Beatbot's "65 W" is a charger rating rather than in-water consumption, and Maytronics publishes no draw figure for any Dolphin. Any page that ranks these brands on efficiency is comparing a motor rating against a charger rating against nothing.

Warranty does not track price

It is tempting to read a longer term as a confidence signal. It is not one, and this three-way makes that obvious. Within the Dolphin range alone, two machines at the same price carry two years and four years respectively. Beatbot advertises "up to three-year warranty" and then hedges to "select models" on its own service page. Aiper runs 12, 24 and 36 month terms across its range and omits two current models from the table entirely.

Warranty length reflects how a brand packages its range. What matters is who performs the repair and where the machine has to travel to get it. See the warranty register for the full brand-by-brand evidence.

Which one, for whom

  • Buy Dolphin if you want the lowest ownership risk and you are keeping the machine for years. You pay more at the bottom of the range and you get a registered Australian company, a service network and no requirement to register the product to claim. We earn nothing on this recommendation.
  • Buy Beatbot if you want the most capable machine on paper and you have a large pool. The top models add surface skimming and water clarification that neither of the others offers, and the longest published runtimes in our whole register. Accept that a repair may leave the country.
  • Buy Aiper if price is the constraint and you are comfortable treating the machine as a five-year purchase rather than a ten-year one. It is the cheapest way into floor, wall and waterline cleaning from a brand with any Australian presence at all.
  • Check where you are buying it in every case. One Aiper model is sold through a major hardware chain that does not appear on Aiper's own authorised sales channel list, and Aiper voids warranty on purchases from unauthorised resellers. Ask before you pay, not after.

Common questions

Aiper, Beatbot or Dolphin: which should I buy in Australia?

On the spec sheet Beatbot leads, on price Aiper leads, and on the thing that decides whether you still own a working machine in year four, Dolphin leads by a distance. Dolphin is the only one of the three with a registered Australian company, a published head office and phone number, an authorised service network and a stated position that product registration is not required. We earn nothing from any of these three brands, so that is a ranking on the merits.

Is Beatbot better than Dolphin?

Beatbot publishes the more impressive specification: higher sensor counts, ultrasonic and camera-based mapping, surface skimming and water clarification on the top models, and the longest published runtime in our register. Dolphin publishes far less and sells more. The difference that should decide it is that Beatbot names no Australian repair centre and routes repairs to a global service address, while Maytronics Australia operates a local dealer and service network.

Is Aiper cheaper than Dolphin for a reason?

Partly yes. Aiper's range starts around $799 against about $1,049 for the cheapest Dolphin, and the money you are not spending is largely the local support structure. Aiper publishes no Australian company, ABN or physical address, and its repair form only reveals a return address after you submit a claim. There are also two current Aiper models missing from its own Australian warranty table.

Do any of these three pay you a commission?

Not one of them, today. Aiper runs an affiliate program we have applied to and it is not active, Beatbot Australia runs no publisher program at all, and Dolphin has never had one. The only brand on this site that does run a live program is Wybot, which is not on this page and which has the weakest Australian support of any brand we cover. We would rather say that than have you wonder.
