Pool cleaner warranties in Australia

Warranty terms and service details checked 5 September 2026

On a machine costing one to four thousand dollars, the question that matters most is the one least likely to be on the product page: if this fails in year two, who in Australia fixes it, and how long are you without it? The answer varies far more between brands than price does.

The short version

Brand Australian entity Warranty Who repairs it here
DolphinMaytronics Maytronics Australia Pty Ltd, ABN 87 148 058 495, Oxley QLD 2 to 4 yr Authorised service network Australia-wide, stated two working day turnaround
ZodiacFluidra Zodiac Group Australia Pty Ltd, five state offices 1 to 3 yr Fluidra, but Fluidra decides the method: dealer, on-site, workshop or agent
Beatbotvia AquaTech AquaTech Group Pty Ltd, ABN 41 682 436 317, not shown on the site 2 to 3 yr Distributor-managed. Replacement may be a refurbished unit
Aiperdirect none published 1 to 3 yr Direct claim to Aiper, Australian phone line, no named local repairer
Wybotofficial store none published 1 to 2 yr No Australian repair network found. See the split below

The one that stands out: Maytronics runs an authorised dealer and service centre network rather than a single send-in depot, and states a two working day repair turnaround with no interstate shipping. It is the only brand here where a warranty claim means a local technician rather than a courier and a wait. Note that we earn nothing from Dolphin, so this is not a paid recommendation.

Wybot is two different purchases

This distinction is the single most useful thing on this page, because the brand name on the box is identical either way.

Bought from the official store: no Australian company name, ABN, address or phone number appears anywhere on it. The contact page gives a California address, while the terms of service nominate a Kansas governing-law address and separately claim orders are processed under Australian law, which is internally contradictory. The warranty page itself is empty: it renders a heading and no terms. The only warranty table on the site sits inside the refund policy, and two models, the B1 and the S3, do not appear in it at all. The B1's own product page contradicts that table.

Bought through the Australian distributor: some of the range, including the M1, L1 and C1 Max, is sold through Pacific Pool Products Australia in New South Wales, which does in-house repairs and back-to-base warranty. That is a genuinely different proposition.

If you are considering Wybot, the model matters less than the seller. Ask who the Australian distributor is before you pay.

Warranty length does not track price

It is tempting to read a longer warranty as a better machine. Within Dolphin's own range that does not hold: two models at the same recommended price carry different terms, and three "Bonus" bundles are sold at the same price as the base model while adding a caddy, a cover and a third year of cover. If you were buying one of those base models, there is no reason to.

Zodiac adds a condition the others do not: its premium iQ models cap the motor block at three years or 1,200 running hours, whichever comes first. On a pool cleaned twice a week that cap is unlikely to bite, but on a heavily used or commercial-adjacent pool it can arrive well before the third birthday.

Warranty range by brand

Dolphin (Maytronics) 2 yr 4 yr 28
Aiper 2 yr 3 yr 6
Beatbot 2 yr 3 yr 8
Zodiac 1 yr 3 yr 12
Wybot 1 yr 2 yr 10

2 models in our dataset publish no warranty term at all.

The conditions that void claims

  • Registration. Maytronics states registration is not required. Zodiac requires both registration and a tax invoice before a claim is approved. Assume you need the invoice either way and keep it.
  • Authorised sellers. Zodiac's express warranty applies only if you bought from a Fluidra-authorised dealer. Aiper's applies only to purchases through its official and authorised channels. A marketplace bargain can sit outside both.
  • Consumables are not covered for long. Filters, brushes and tracks typically carry three to twelve months regardless of the headline term. Zodiac covers most wearable parts for one year even on a three year machine.
  • "Replacement" may mean refurbished. Beatbot markets full replacement protection; the fine print permits a new or refurbished unit.

What to ask before you buy

  1. Which Australian company honours this warranty, and what is its ABN?
  2. Where is the nearest authorised repairer, and does the machine have to be shipped?
  3. What is the typical turnaround on a warranty repair?
  4. Are spare parts sold in Australia, and what does a replacement battery or motor cost?
  5. Does the term differ by part, and how long are the filter, brushes and tracks covered?

A seller who can answer all five is selling you a serviceable machine. One who cannot is selling you something with an undisclosed expiry date, and that belongs in your price comparison alongside the sticker.

Whatever the warranty says, the Australian Consumer Law still applies. Consumer guarantees sit on top of any manufacturer warranty and cannot be excluded by it. A major failure entitles you to a repair, replacement or refund from the seller. Aiper is the only brand here that states this explicitly in its own terms, which is to its credit.

Common questions

Which robotic pool cleaner has the best warranty in Australia?

Dolphin, on both length and substance. Terms run two to four years depending on model, and Maytronics Australia operates an authorised service network with a stated two working day repair turnaround, so the machine does not have to be shipped interstate. Length alone is not the point: a four year warranty from a company with no Australian presence is worth less than two years from one with local technicians.

Does a longer warranty mean a better machine?

No, and Dolphin proves it within its own range. Two models at the same price carry different terms, and three "Bonus" bundles cost the same as the base model while adding a third year. Warranty length tracks how a brand packages its range, not how well the machine is built.

What happens if I buy a grey import?

You lose the manufacturer warranty pathway and usually the local repair option with it. Australian Consumer Law guarantees still apply against the seller who sold it to you, but enforcing that against an overseas marketplace seller is a different proposition from ringing an Australian service centre. The saving is real and so is the risk.

Do I need to register the product to claim?

It depends on the brand, and getting this wrong voids otherwise valid claims. Maytronics states registration is not required. Zodiac requires registration and a tax invoice before a claim is approved, and requires that the unit was bought from an authorised dealer.

Does Australian Consumer Law cover me anyway?

Yes. The consumer guarantees in the Australian Consumer Law apply on top of any manufacturer warranty and cannot be excluded. A major failure entitles you to a repair, replacement or refund regardless of what a warranty document says. What a manufacturer warranty adds is a defined process and, in the better cases, a local technician.

Entity names, warranty terms and service details were read from each brand's Australian terms, warranty documents and ABN Lookup on 5 September 2026. Terms change, and the exact cover depends on the model and where you bought it, so confirm before relying on any figure here.
