Robotic pool cleaner reviews
Prices and specifications checked 5 September 2026
Every robotic pool cleaner we have verified as being sold in Australia, grouped by brand and sorted by price within each. 66 machines across 5 brands, with the specification each manufacturer publishes and an honest blank where they publish nothing.
What "review" means on this page. We have not run these machines in a test pool, and nothing here is a verdict on how well one cleans. What we have done is verify the Australian price at the retailer, record the published specification, and establish who stands behind the machine in Australia and where a repair goes. If you want a hands-on test, this is not it. If you want to know what you are actually buying and from whom, it is.

Aiper
The cheapest way into a machine that does floor, walls and waterline, and the brand doing the most volume through general Australian retail: its own Australian store, Clark Rubber, Pool and Spa Warehouse, Amazon AU and eBay AU.
Warranty is per model rather than a flat term, running 12, 24 or 36 months. Two models currently on sale here, the Scuba S3 and the Scuba V3, are missing from that table altogether. No Australian company, ABN or physical address is published on any Aiper Australian page, and the repair form only issues a return address once you have submitted a claim.

Beatbot
The newest arrival and the thinnest independent coverage, which is why it is worth documenting carefully. The Australian business is AquaTech Group Pty Ltd, ABN 41 682 436 317, trading as Beatbot Australia; the ABN is not shown anywhere on the site.
It also has the largest gap between list price and street price in the whole register, so buying one on RRP is the most expensive mistake available on this page. The top models are the only machines here that publish surface skimming and water clarification alongside floor, wall and waterline cleaning. No Australian repair centre is named.

Dolphin (Maytronics)
By far the largest range sold here and the only brand with a registered Australian company behind it: Maytronics Australia Pty Ltd, ABN 87 148 058 495, head office in Oxley, an authorised dealer and service network, and a published position that product registration is not required to claim.
The spec sheets are thinner than the challengers. Maytronics publishes no filtration micron rating on any model, using "fine", "ultra-fine" and "rough" instead, and it runs two different apps across one range. We earn nothing on Dolphin and it is still the brand we point at most often.

Wybot
The cheapest machines in the register and the widest published feature list for the money, including AI vision debris detection on models that cost less than a mid-range Dolphin.
It is also the brand we have to be most careful about, for a reason we would rather state than bury: Wybot is the only brand on this site that runs an affiliate program open to us, and it has the weakest Australian support of any brand we cover. Its Australian store publishes no Australian entity and an empty warranty page, and neither of the two largest specialist retail chains carries it. Its permanent "compare at" prices are marketing rather than RRPs, so we do not present them as savings.

Zodiac
A split range: corded EvoluX and DuoX machines, and the cordless FreeRider line. Zodiac is the only brand in the register that publishes an actual electrical rating on its products, 30 V DC and 150 W across the corded range, which makes it the only one where a running-cost figure can be calculated from a product spec rather than a power-supply nameplate.
The catch is in the terms. Zodiac is the only brand that requires both purchase from an authorised dealer and product registration before an express warranty claim is approved. On a discounted online purchase that is more consequential than most spec-sheet differences. We earn nothing on Zodiac.

Surface skimmers, listed separately
These 6 products are not pool cleaners. A robotic skimmer works the water surface and never touches the floor or walls, so it is an addition to a cleaner rather than an alternative to one. They are priced alongside real cleaners and they are easy to buy by mistake, which is why we keep them out of every comparison above.
| Model | Price | What it cleans | Warranty |

| EcoSurfer S2Aiper | $600 | water surface | 2 yr |

What these tables cannot tell you
The gaps are as informative as the figures, so we publish them rather than hiding them behind blank cells. Across 72 models tracked, 71 have a verified Australian price, 34 publish a runtime, 59 publish a weight, 70 publish a warranty term and only 13 publish an operating power draw.
Three things no manufacturer selling into Australia publishes for any model: battery cycle life, replacement battery availability and price here, and energy used per cleaning cycle. Those are the three figures that would actually let you compare cost of ownership, and their absence is the single most useful finding in this whole register. The battery register and the running-cost register set out what can be worked out in their place.
Two more things worth carrying into a shop. Running cost is trivial and should not affect your choice: a robot uses roughly $4.86 to $7.85 of electricity across a full season against about $358 a year for the pump. And warranty length does not track price, as the warranty register shows inside a single brand's own range.
Common questions
Have you tested these robotic pool cleaners?
No, and we will not pretend otherwise. We compile published specifications, verify Australian prices at the retailer on a stated date, and document who honours the warranty here and where a repair goes. That is a different job from a test lab, and in this category we think it is the more useful one, because the figures that decide whether you still own a working machine in year four are the ones nobody publishes.
Which brand of robotic pool cleaner is most reliable in Australia?
Nobody publishes failure-rate data, so any site claiming to rank reliability is guessing. What can be checked is the repair path, and there the brands separate sharply. One brand has a registered Australian company, a head office, a phone number and an authorised service network. Two publish no Australian entity at all. That is not reliability, but it is what determines the cost of a failure.
Why do you cover brands you earn nothing from?
Because between them they hold the majority of Australian brand searches in this category, and a comparison that only listed brands that pay us would be worthless. Of the 5 brands here, exactly one runs a program open to us today, and it is the one with the weakest Australian support. We say that on every page it appears on.
How current are these prices?
Every price was checked on 5 September 2026 at the Australian retailer or brand storefront, and the tables lead with the selling price rather than RRP. Prices in this category move often and discounting clusters around late November, so confirm with the retailer before buying.
Prices and specifications checked 5 September 2026. Figures are manufacturer-published or verified at an Australian retailer, and nothing is estimated or converted from an overseas figure. Where a brand publishes conflicting figures across its own store, manual and marketing pages, we record the manual's figure and note the conflict rather than picking the flattering one.
